Designed by Kamermans & Co Architects, Omaha Beach House is a holiday home design with a view to permanent residence. The beach house design is located in a new part of an exiting beach resort, north of Auckland, New Zealand. The living area, dining room and kitchen space as well as the covered terrace were located in a wedge shape elevated house structure looking down the viewing corridor. The master bedroom with sitting area was placed in an oval shape structure above the kitchen / dinning room area.
The remaining 4 bedrooms, garage, laundry and bathrooms are located in a cube shape structure that is linked to the wedge by the stairwell in the oval. These different functions of the beach house design were given their own shape and building materials, resulting in a sculptural composition; stained timber ‘wedge’, colorsteel ‘oval’ and a plasterfinish ‘cube’. Kamermans & Co Architects also did the home interior design as well as the landscape design of a ‘native dune’ style home garden with plant colours to complement the home design colours. The interior design included Kamermans & Co Architects designed sofas, coffee tables, dining table, audio / visual cabinet, barstools, bedside tables and bed heads.
